I like the glove trick too. I did a lot of tailgate work not using a loading dock. I'll pace off a distance, drop my glove and use it to know right where to stop.

I drive a hustler and I can say that I am very good at it but it surprise me how many drivers ask me to back up trailers for them because they don't know how. I used to do it but they can't even say thank you so I stop helping , let them strugle.

I am not a truck driver but I do pull my own short trailer and I feel that I got something out of the video. I know that a short trailer with a long truck is a bad combination but you work with what you have. Once you get the “feel” of backing up in a straight line in this way you can learn how to back up better. 😊

i got all the steps down but for some reason my aim is just terrible. I aim for one spot and always end up backing into a different spot, and then trying to fix it I end up near jacknifikg lmao

Backing is an art for sure. I have to go back into a stop off a busy, narrow street every week. I find once I'm fatigued, it's hit or miss when i get back to the yard. Gotta know yoyr angles and rotate that wheel to adjust as needed. Good video.

I’ve been driving over 5 years. My advice is don’t rush and do it right the first time or you’ll end up making multiple adjustments and pull ups and getting frustrated!

I have some knowledge from growing up around trucks and such. But Priceless is not a big enough word to use for you video's and knowledge. Again Thank you so much.

I taught my son to back up with 1- 20oz water bottle as a guide. The water bottle represented a parked truck. He learned quick and caught on very well. Hope this helps for anyone showing someone new on how to back up. Make them get off too so they can see and know the actual size of their truck. I know there is more to it but to the new driver, you'll get it with more practice and patience. Good Luck and Peace.
